Leather Oaks Christmas 2011 & 2012Holiday at Leather Oaks! |
This Page created on December 28th, 2013 |
Most of the statues here at Leather Oaks have some seriously oversized egos. When Horse (Antoine Louis Barye's work, Arab on Horseback) heard that Poseidon was this year's poster rubberman, he demanded that he be afforded similar leatherman status. Well, I guess his scimitar-equipped belt might have been made of leather before it was bronzed! Here's that card (to the left): the caption read as follows: “Horse lets me pose with him on condition that I polish his person. I know it sounds rather strange being put that way, but the nuances of the various bronze salts are highlighted rather effectively, don't you agree?” followed by the caption, “2011 Season's Greetings”. At right is the photo that appeared on the rear of the card, along with the caption, “Horse and Harold”.. |
