The 2012 Rubber Card

Harold's Flock It was a pretty good rubber year, with many of my favorite outfits enjoying repeated wear. The main photo was a flocking sensation!
The caption was simple enough, vertical “Merry Christmas” and a red letter “Leather Oaks 2012” Aren't the flamingos adorable? Here are the narrative paragraphs:

I'd always wanted to be flocked! I mean, haven't you? I couldn't think of anyone I'd even dream of flocking, but to be flocked, oooh, ECSTASY!!

Fortunately, my good friends Jim and Juanita found themselves in the opposite situation: They wanted to flock, felt this over-powering urge, as it were, but hadn't a clue to whom they should afford this opportunity. Then, they thought of Harold!

In the accompanying photo on the rear, I was wearing the same NeoSport wetsuit, but this time surrounded by an Iron Flock. The caption was “The photo <at right> shows a veritable railroad traffic jam as preparations were made for the Rubber & Rawhide Railway's 2012 Open House.”

There's picture of the whole flock below! I'm told that there was supposed to be a baker's dozen, but then again some of them may have flown away. How many can you find?
Lots of Pink Flamingos
Trains at David Station There were a few additional rubber candidates for 2012. To our left is another railway-themed example.
Two thousand twelve was the year I sold my trike, and replaced it with a CanAm Spyder! There have been no riding leathers photos of my new three-wheeled mount, but it did get visited by a summer-attired rubberman!

The 2012 Leather Card

And is it more or less conventional??

Harold's in Railroad Control!      How many leather-kilted model railroad engineers can you name? This candid photo was caught by fellow churchgoer Jim, on the occasion of the Rubber & Rawhide's Fall Open House. The front caption read, “HAPPY HOLIDAYS -- The 2012 Photo from the Rubber and Rawhide Railway.” The narrative paragraph explained, “It's been an interesting year here at Leather Oaks. So interesting in fact that the cover photo taken by my friend Jim is the only one with Harold wearing leather. The location is along the recently upgraded Serpentine, our grade gaining section for the Rubber & Rawhide's Lot Circumnavigation Route. Here's hoping that your Holidays are Happy and that next year is even better!”
At right is the photo that appeared on the rear of the card. “My good buddy Horse and I got together last December for this picture.”
