Azaleas at Neptune?!

We're not sure what to make of the sudden fascination of Neptune for land-based flora. Seems there was a cameraman and someone with a clipboard out here the other day. Neither one was very forthcoming, but they did share a couple of their photos.

Actually, there's a whole host of places on the Rubber and Rawhide where our passengers get to enjoy azaleas at eye level or above. They took this photo at a vantage point on the Beyond the Briars route, facing Westward as it rejoins the Lot Circumnavigation Main Line. You don't suppose it has anything to do with the BTB sort of becoming a de facto part of the Main Line, now do you?

We came out a day later, and somebody's laid in another switch almost under Horse's nose! But where can it connect to? He already has practically his own private Loop on the R&R! Let's follow the new roadbed and see what seems to be going on.

Another Grade Crossing at Sago Palm?

This seems a little excessive, I think! Those grade crossings don't grow on trees you know. Hosts of resin bugs have to boiled and . . . well, it's really too disgusting to go into.

Speaking of crossings, though, what's that silvery thing across our mainline? Nah, it can't be!

Well, it does appear that we have another 30 degree track crossing now, and someone sprang for stainless steel track. That grade crossing appears cut real low, sure hope we don't have any flooding problems on it.

You know, I wonder if this is even our crews? They're not usually so tight-lipped about their accomplishments, as I remember!

Another Crossing, Again?!

Not only a track crossing, but they'll have to put a grade crossing in here for our new gate. I sure hope engineering has seen some of this. I wonder why Harold's not returning our calls?

Isn't that a new switch under the azalea up there? Can there be such a thing as a Main Line bypass? Where is there a prototype? Guess we'll just have to be patient and see what develops!
