Serpentine Sentinel!

Serpentine Sentinel!

We did mention the Leopard frogs. Did we mention they're quick adopters? The photo at left captures one of the larger of the Rana utricularia performing sentinel duty on the Serpentine at its junction with the Diver's Loop. The linked photo provides a closer view.

Leopard Frog in the Aquatic Grass

As the photographer attempted to close in, Mr. Leopard decided to dive for protection. You can just make him out among the floating monkey grass in the photo to the right!

House Perimeter Tracklaying Progress!

House Perimeter Tracklaying Progress!

With the delivery of the dual rail track bending tool, subtstantial progress has been made on the House Perimeter route (Phase II). To date, around 54 feet of track has been laid and then bent in place, including two reverse curvature transitions. The time spent in performing the bending operations has been substantially reduced. Unfortunately, part of the savings is lost in the need to install temporary and then permanent rail joiners. The photo at left depicts the work accomplished today.

Serpentine Progress.

While no work was performed on this section today, photos were made showing the progress to date. The photo at right shows a wide angle view, taken from the North, while the linked photo is the view one sees from near the front porch. We are going to remove our pesky measurement hose before more photos are taken, honest!
