Julio's pet project continues to make progress. It's been a lot slower than that metal man would have preferred, but he doesn't have to worry about the vagaries of weather. By Saturday afternoon, the route had been pretty well established. The West porch complex of switches had been finalized, so this gave a firm starting point for laying out the route. Since clearance to cut the Phase II mainline was pending the exact alignment, this was a giant step forward! The photo above shows the reassembled Porch West End Loop and the tentative roadbed location for the new interconnecting track.

While waiting for weather to clear, the track crew has spent the interim profitably in reassembling the Porch mainline and sidings. This view is taken from rather low to highlight the track all the way back to the front door grade crossings!

Despite the weather, the roadbed crew finally completed their work along the West wall of the house. The track crew promptly installed the turnout they had "borrowed" from an unused siding in the East Garage Yard. Somehow, they scraped together a few pieces of sectional track to simulate how the connection will look once it is fully railed. Could this be more pushing on the part of Julio to see his pet project completed? Tomorrow, Julio my friend ! (If it doesn't rain too much, that is.)
