Loop Closed on Perimeter Route!

Loop Closed on Perimeter Route!

Finally, the extended mainlines of the Rubber and Rawhide Railroad are complete! With the closing of the last few feet of the North Perimeter portion of the Route, customers are assured of unbroken service to most all areas of the Leather Oaks domain! The photo at left shows the completed trackage at the important Permiter to Memorial Bell Tower Wye. Operations has commented that some additional trimming of the verdant vegetation will be required before revenue service begins. Indeed, a slight change of vantage point is required to follow the new construction Eastward to the East Bell Tower Switch (click link to view).

The photo at right shows the final section of Phase III-B construction. It's such a wide view that clicking on the linked photo is necessary to see the whole thing! The roadbed stub at the linked photo's lower right will connect the Lot Perimeter route with the Memorial Bell Tower Loop.

Our construction crews can really exceed themselves at times! It was less than 24 hours ago that a UPS truck deposited our newest brige on the front porch. Seems it's already in place on the projected Sago Palm Route. The Photo at the left shows how fast those guys can work!

Three work cars, any engine?

Let me see, there are our three work cars, but where's the locomotive? Come to think of it, I didn't think we even had roadbed in place for either bridge approach. Does look right at home there, though, doesn't it?!
